Allow Us To Cater Your Next Event

In addition to our lunch service, children’s parties, afternoon teas and singer/song writer events, Emma’s Tea Room also offers catering service.

Our specialty in catering is for parties of 150 or fewer. We offer a wide variety of choices for your event that include only the freshest homemade entrees and treats.

There is no need to fuss with menus, grocery shopping, and organization or clean up. Emma’s Tea Room can take care of all your catering needs.

Consider using Emma’s Tea Room for your next catering event whether it is for a wedding, business affair, private party or  any other social event.

If you do decide to self-cater your event, allow us to share some tips with you to make it easier:

·         When estimating how much food and drinks to purchase, always round up. It’s better to have leftovers than leave someone out.

·        Consider the length of the event – how long will the food be out for consumption? Use chafing dishes and beds of ice or coolers to maintain proper food temperatures.

·         Plan ahead and know what serving dishes you are going to use for the event.

·         Remember that there might be special dietary needs of some of your guests.

·         If you are hosting a themed event, be sure that your menu matches the theme.

The above tips are just a few things to consider.

Emma’s Tea Room and owner Rebekah Klein possess years of catering experience. Allow Emma’s Tea Room to take the stress away from you for your catering needs. We provide professionalism and organizing skills that will make your event a huge success.

The History of Mother's Day

Did you know that Mother’s Day is an American invention? The holiday was created in the early 1900s by Anna Jarvis. It is celebrated all over the world during the months of March, April or May.  There have been celebrations of motherhood all over the world predating the American version. It was Miss Jarvis who campaigned in America to make it a nationally recognized official holiday.

Interesting fact: Anna Jarvis trademarked the phrases “second Sunday in May” and “Mother’s Day.”  She also wanted the spelling and grammatical usage to be a singular possessive –  Mother’s, for each family to honor their mother and not to confuse it with the plural possessive that would pay tribute all mothers in the world.

Emma’s Tea Room has several events planned for May and Mother’s Day. Allow us help celebrate the mom in your life.

Host your next birthday party at Emma's Tea Room

When planning your next birthday event for your children, why not give Emma’s Tea Room a try? We provide a different and unique experience for children’s birthday parties.

Every little girl likes to play “tea party.” Don’t you remember being young and pretending to give a tea party and feeling all grown up?

Let us give your child a tea party she will be sure to remember on her birthday. Participants will be served sandwiches and tea, get to dress up with jewelry and boas and attend a fashion show!

Parties start with a party of eight. You can also opt for a tea pot birthday cake and a dozen roses for the birthday girl.

Parents of guests may stay upstairs and will be served tea and scones. Toward the end of the party, we invite all parents and friends to attend the fashion show.

To learn more about our birthday packages please see our Children’s Parties page.

Here are some tips to make your tea party a success:

Choose a date and time – decide whether a morning tea or afternoon tea would best suite your schedule and age appropriateness. Try to avoid days around a holiday.

Make your invitations – plan to send out your invitations at least two weeks in advance of the party. Sending handmade invitations with a tea theme is a great idea and fun to do. Think Mad Hatter or include an actual sealed tea bag with the invitation.

Some other things to consider – let parents know that caffeine free tea will more than likely be served. Also, be prepared for spills. A spray bottle of seltzer water works nicely to help with spills. However, we at Emma’s Tea Room will make sure that you have a great time in a stress-free environment. Let us take care of things for you.

Call us today to schedule your child’s birthday party at 256-489-5850. It will be our pleasure to serve you.
